Strength to Serve – Reebok

Watch as fitness professionals from Reebok come together to help transform the grounds of an organization in Boston that rescues courageous moms and their children from the streets.

An exercise in collaboration

I met Jeremy Shore, who is the founder of Strength to Serve while producing content for LiveStrong.com.  Strength to Serve was looking to produce video and photography for The inaugural Ride: Tech Challenge (which) was a 25-mile cycling relay that took place at Driveway Austin on September 1, 2013, benefitting Austin Sunshine Camps. Teams from some of Austin’s top tech companies including Google, Headspring, Bazaar Voice, and HomeAway used their Strength to Serve, helping to raise a combined $15,000 for the Austin non-profit whose mission is to create a better future and stronger community through mentoring, education and personal development of Austin’s low income youth.”

Shortly after we partnered with Reebok to document several nonprofit charity events across the United States and produce video marketing materials.  These events hosted fitness professionals, who would travel from around the USA to use their strength to serve local nonprofits.  I produced, filmed and edited these projects.

Favorite Project

My favorite project was Keen USA in Washington D.C. where “Fitness professionals from the DC area come together to use their strength to serve KEEN USA, a non-profit whose mission is to empower youth with disabilities by providing free, non-competitive one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness, and fun, led by volunteer coaches.”

A nationwide effort

Strength to Serve has made it their mission, to work with nonprofits throughout the United States.  “Giving a hand up, not a handout”.  I played a key role in the planning and production of these video shoots from start to finish.  Videos were filmed in Austin, San Diego, Boston & Washington D.C.

Let’s work together!
